D-Luciferin potassium salt is a water-soluble substrate of luciferase, found in various luminescent organisms. Under the catalysis of ATP and luciferase, D-Luciferin potassium is oxidized, producing blue-green light (560nm). When the substrate is in excess, the number of generated photons is positively correlated with the concentration of luciferase.
